Considering Renewable Energy?

Cooperative policy requires members to contact us for the approval before installing a distributed generation system. This allows us to ensure that interconnection and parallel operation is safe, reliable, and properly metered. We must also study the feasibility of the installation and in some cases apply system upgrades.

We have reached the 5% saturation noted in policy 600. Net metering is closed, existing net meters will continue. We will now be offering net billing only.

The following policies and documents are used by the cooperative regardless of the size of the project.

*SREC Operations Policy 500: Interconnection and Parallel Operation of Distributed Generation

*Attachment A: Application for Operation of Member-Owned Generation

*SREC Operations Policy 600: Net Metering Policy

Before making the decision to purchase generating equipment, members should consider the economics of purchasing the equipment and determine whether generating electricity will lower their own monthly power costs. Here’s a tool to help with your analysis: Are You Considering Installing Generation Equipment?
